Aftercare & Storage
Always ensure to thoroughly clean equipment after use to ensure longevity. We always recommend cleaning the tools whilst the paint is still wet.
- Remove excess paint, and roll off as much paint from the roller as possible.
- Remove the cover from the frame.
- Water-based/latex paints - Clean in a warm bucket of water with detergent. Use a small bristled brush to remove paint from the hard-to-reach areas.
- Oil-based paints - Use a thinner, see paint manufacturers instructions for recommendations, and apply to a cloth to wipe off the paint.
- Then work on the roller sleeves.
- Water-based/latex paints - Rinse the roller sleeve in warm water, then add a few drops of washing-up liquid and work in. Rinse in water and repeat until there is no paint left.
- Oil-based paints - Add white spirit or brush cleaner to the paint tray and work around with a brush to loosen the paint. Then wash with warm soapy water and a kitchen sponge to finish.
- Allow to dry before storing.
Note: Always take care when using thinning products such as white spirit.
